INS-41814 The installer has detected that some of the services of Oracle Grid Infrastructure are not running on this system.

ERROR DETAILS
=============
CRS-4124: Oracle High Availability Services startup failed.
CRS-4000: Command Start failed, or completed with errors.
ohasd failed to start: Inappropriate ioctl for device

RESOLUTION
==========
After executing $GRID_HOME/root.sh script, if OS upstart fails to reload the oracleohasd entry automatically. Please follow below steps to troubleshoot this problem.

Step 1: Deconfigure the clusterware using below script if you have already executed root.sh script.

[root@localhost] $GRID_HOME/crs/install/roothas.pl -delete -force -verbose

Step 2: Create a file /etc/init/oracle-ohasd.conf with the following content inside:

# Oracle OHASD startup
start on runlevel [35] stop on runlevel [!35] respawn
exec /etc/init.d/init.ohasd run >/dev/null 2>&1 </dev/null

Step 3 : Perform following steps to upstart ohasd process

[root@localhost] initctl start oracle-ohasd
[root@localhost] initctl list |grep oracle
[root@localhost] oracle-ohasd

Step 4 : Rerun root script:

[root@localhost] $GRID_HOME/root.sh

NOTE: You should see that the Oracle High Availibity process is started and root.sh finishes successfully.

Step 5 : Continue with the Grid Infrastruture installation.
